Gauntlet Newspaper U of CThe Gauntlet is the official student newspaper of the University of Calgary and published since 1960 most Thursdays throughout the year by the Gauntlet Publications Society, an autonomous, incorporated body. Membership in the society is open to undergraduate students at the University but all members of the university community are encouraged to contribute articles and story ideas.

CBC TV Launches New Local Current Affairs Programs in Calgary and Edmonton

This Thanksgiving weekend, CBC TV quietly launched new one hour current affairs programs across Canada: Our CalgaryOur Edmonton, Our Montreal, Our OttawaOur Toronto, and Our Vancouver. The show is an hour-long current program, hosted in Calgary by Holly Preston and in Edmonton by Adrienne Lamb.  The programs debut on Saturday, Saturday, October 12 at 6am in every major market across Canada and repeated at 11am on Sunday and 11am on Monday.

TV Station in Alberta: NUTV

NUTV CalgaryNUTV is Alberta’s only non-profit independent community access television station and one of the oldest campus-based, television production societies in Canada. Established in 1983 and incorporated in 1991, NUTV attracts viewers from the University of Calgary community and beyond. NUTV is part of the University of Calgary Tri-Media Alliance, comprising of print The Gauntlet, radio CJSW 90.9, and television (NUTV). U of C is the only Canadian university with three media operations on-campus.
