The Astral Caring for Kids Radiothon goes live across Canada on Thursday, May 5

On May 5, 2011, Astral Media will hold its annual Astral Media National Day of Caring for Kids. The event will be broadcast live throughout the day on more than 60 English-language stations across Canada. This national event is in support of about 20 major hospitals and healthcare facilities across the country. Last year, in twelve hours, the largest Radiothon event in North America raised over 7.1 million dollars.

An Open Access Intensive Production Camp!

A tradition since 2002, EMMEDIA Compression Camps offer artists and independents the freedom to translate ideas and concepts into short videos that are compressed and uploaded for web-streaming on-line at Works can be experimental, performative, dramatic, reportage, documentary, even After Effects or Flash pieces, but can only have a maximum duration of five minutes, and is able to be completed in one or two sessions. All equipment and edit suites are provided free of charge for projects dedicated to this program. EMMEDIA staff and an artist will be on hand to provide creative and technical assistance and support.
