Bell Completes Acquisition of CTV and Launches Bell Media

Bell Media BCE Inc. today announced that it has completed its $3.2-billion acquisition of CTV and launched Bell Media, a new business unit encompassing all CTV and other Bell content assets. “Our acquisition of Canada’s No. 1 media company leverages our strategic investments in broadband networks and services and enables our promise to deliver the content Canadians want most across every screen — smartphone, tablet, computer and TV,” George Cope, president and chief executive at Bell Canada and BCE.

Shine 90.5 FM to Launch in Red Deer on April 1, 2011

Touch Canada Broadcasting to launch a  Shine FM station in Red Deer at 6:00am on April 1, 2011.  Joining two sister stations in Calgary, two in Edmonton, and one in Grande Prairie, CKRD will similarly broadcast Christian programming.

Juno Award Winners 2011

CKEA Edmonton Flips from The Sound to Lite 95.7 FM

CKEA-FM (Lite 95.7) is a new radio station in Edmonton, Alberta that as of March 25, 2011, broadcasts an adult contemporary format on the frequency 95.7 FM. Owned by Harvard Broadcasting, the station officially launched on September 6, 2010 as an adult album alternative format branded as 95.7 The Sound. The station flipped to an adult contemporary format on March 25, 2011 by stunting with all-Christmas music program for three days and a cash giveaway.
