Shaw TV Red DeerShaw TV is a locally-based community channel service operated by cable TV company Shaw Communications, and is available to Shaw Cable subscribers in most major communities throughout western Canada. Each station runs programming produced by staff and/or volunteers. Most stations broadcast a variety of programming, including news, live studio shows, city council meetings, high school/college sports, and community bulletin board/telefied advertisements. Some programs are aired only locally, such as the Go Red Deer, Go Calgary and Go Edmonton segments on entertainment and other local news, while others are  aired throughout a province or region, such as WHL hockey coverage and others are broadcast across Canada such as their new reality shows launching this fall, The Proposal, Make it Happen and Cooking with Fire.

CTV and CTV Two New Fall 2012 Programs

CTV and CTV Two announced their confirmed fall 2012 premiere dates. There will be four new and 17 hit returning series on CTV, and three new and 10 returning hits on CTV Two. Dates for the premieres of new CTV series include ANGER MANAGEMENT (Tuesdays at 9 p.m.  ET/PT, beginning Sept. 11 and a new CTV series include THE NEW NORMAL (Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT, beginning Sept. 11)  ANGER MANAGEMENT features Charlie Sheen, and THE NEW NORMAL a is a comedy about long-term couple Bryan and David, who look to create a new type of family – a surrogate family – with a single mother. Sunday, September 16, THE MOB DOCTOR premieres starring Jordana Spiro. Also joining the schedule on Saturday is the comedy series, THE NEIGHBORS, starring Jami Gertz and Lenny Venito. CTV Two premieres EMILY OWENS, M.D. (Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET, beginning Oct. 16) starring Mamie Gummer.

CityTV New Programs Fall 2012

Citytv Fall 2012 LineupCitytv has secured the rights to the future queen of daytime and has beefed up its late-night offering, bringing Katie Couric and Jimmy Kimmel to your television five days a week. Couric’s show Katie, which will air at 4 p.m. coast-to-coast. As for late-night, Citytv has bolstered its lineup with Jimmy Kimmel Live!, airing weekdays at midnight. The ever-popular reality series The Bachelor returns with a northern twist: CFL free agent Brad Smith will be looking for love this fall on The Bachelor Canada. Meanwhile, two new comedies – Partners and The Mindy Project – will join proven favourites from last season, including New Girl, 2 Broke Girls, Suburgatory, Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23, and Last Man Standing. These comedies will be joined mid-season by two Vancouver-based comedies. Rounding out Citytv’s fall program lineup is the news magazine Rock Centre with Brian Williams.

CBC TV Fall 2012The cancellation of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! was reportedly “the most shocking news” at CBC’s presentation of its fall 2012 programming. The scoop of Murdoch Mysteries from Rogers, Strombo doing the primetime shuffle and a Wizard of Oz reality show in conjunction with David Mirvish Productions of Toronto were other notable mentions. With Wheel of Fortune gone from the schedule, late-night talk show George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight will take its place weeknights at 7 p.m. ET starting Sept. 17, with repeats at 11:05 p.m.
