T8N MagazineRob Lightfoot, formerly the publisher of Vue Weekly, Edmonton’s alternative newspaper, and his three stalwart staff work tirelessly to publish a slick and well-design lifestyle publication called T8N Magazine in St. Albert. First released this past December, Lightfoot and his team are filling a known gap in the St. Albert media marketplace. T8N Magazine is published 12 months a year and promises to prompt conversation and “stir up some hornets’ nests” on local issues.

Alberta Magazine of the Year and Showcase Award Winners to be Announced in Calgary on March 5

Alberta Magazine AwardsThe Alberta Magazine Publishers Association announced the finalists for this year’s Showcase Awards, the recipients of the Achievement in Publishing, Editor of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Best New Magazine awards and the shortlist for the Alberta Magazine of the Year Award. Winners to be announced on March 5 at the Awards Gala following their  annual conference.

Alberta Magazine: The Kings Connection

Kings-Connection MagazineThe King’s Connection is the alumni magazine of King’s University. It showcases the activities and achievements of the university along with its alumni and to recognize their supporters. The most recent issue featured photographs of the two week tour by the King’s University Chamber Choir to Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. It also highlighted the announcement of the donation of $12 million in September 2014 by four King’s alumni, the largest gift in King’s 35 year history.

Alberta Magazine: “Wider Horizons” by Lethbridge College Wins Prestigious International Award

Wider Horizons MagazineAlberta’s Lethbridge College is one of nine Canadian educational institutions that received recognition from The Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s (CASE) 2014 Circle of Excellence Awards. The Circle of Excellence awards showcases exceptional work in alumni relations, communications, fundraising and marketing and is open to those working at member colleges, universities, independent schools and nonprofits around the world. Lethbridge’s Wider Horizons publication received a gold award in the Community College Magazine category.
