Jason-StrudwickJason Strudwick is now co-host of City Edmonton’s new Dinner Television news/talk/variety show. A retired four-time, multi-scoring NHL defenseman, Strudwick, finished his hockey career playing for his hometown team, the Edmonton Oilers. Following two decades of athletic experience, he found his new calling in the broadcast industry as host of a local Edmonton radio sports talk show. Now, he’s back in front of the camera.

Cara Fullerton Global TV CalgaryCara Fullerton, Global Calgary’s anchor and reporter announced she’ll be leaving the broadcast industry after 14 years to pursue a career in health and fitness. Fullerton previously worked for CFSK Saskatoon and Global in Halifax. Currently  Fullerton was on Global Calgary’s Morning News and co-anchored the Noon News Hour on weekdays. Her last day with Global Calgary will be August 14.

After 44 years on the Calgary airwaves, Radio Fan reports that Dr. Dan Gavin is about to hang up his headphones at CHQR / AM 770. On the TV side, after 40 years at CTV Calgary, Darrel Janz is hanging up his microphone.

Alberta Media Moves: September 2013

Media MovesDave Rutherford has retired from Calgary’s CHQR and now hosting their morning show from 9 to noons are Roger Kincade and Erin Kelly. The new afternoon host is Dave Taylor, formerly a Calgary MLA. Co-hosting his show for one hour is current drive home host Angela Kokott. Over at Edmonton’s CFCW, James Gruff Gushnowski, replaced Danny Hooper as co-host of their morning show with Sharon Mallon.
