Western Association of Broadcasters to Hold 82nd Annual Conference from June 8 to 9 in Banff, Alberta

WAB AwardsThe Conference kicks off with the annual WAB Golf Classic June 8 at the Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course. This year’s Classic promises to be a great day, rain or shine. The Conference program commences June 9 with an exciting line-up of speakers. Presenting the keynote address is Terry O’Reilly of CBC Radio’s Under the Influence. Some of the most valuable products in the world hit roadblocks; some of the most powerful mediums appear to lose their luster. Often, those problems are perceptions, not reality.

Alberta Magazine Award Winners Announced with New Trail, U of A’s Alumni Magazine, as 2015 Alberta Magazine of the Year

New Trail MagazineOn March 4, 2016 in Calgary the Alberta Magazine Publishers Association presented the Alberta Magazine Awards to an audience of writers, editors, art directors, publishers and other magazine lovers, including Mayor Naheed Nenshi, who punctuated his keynote address by thanking all for “telling our stories.” New Trail, the alumni magazine of the University of Alberta, took home 6 gold awards including the biggest prize, Magazine of the Year. New Trail has been nominated for 7 National Magazine Awards since 2012 and won Best Art Direction of a Single Article at last year’s NMAs.
