Banff World Media Festival Inviting Submissions for Rockie Awards 2018

Banff-FestivalThe Rockie Awards is BANFF’s flagship program celebrating excellence in television and digital content from around the world. Hundreds of television and digital programs compete for a coveted Rockie Award, presented at a ceremony each year at BANFF. With participation from more than 40 countries annually, including an international industry jury of over 100 professionals working in entertainment and media, the Rockie Awards is one of the world’s largest program competitions of its kind.

AMPIA Announces Edmonton Film Prize Shortlist

Edmonton-Film-PrizeFor the fifth time, the shortlist for the 2017 Edmonton Film Prize has been announced. A total of $12,000 in prize money will be awarded to the three finalists among this list of six, with $10,000 for the first-place film and $1,000 each for two runnersup. The prize will be awarded in January of 2018 to a director and/or producer whose narrative, documentary or experimental project has been judged to be of superior quality.

Film-AwardsThe Edmonton International Film Festival (EIFF) announced this year’s Jury Awards, chosen from an outstanding 2017 EIFF program  This year’s full festival line-up featured more than 150 films – short, documentary, dramatic and feature-length – curated from a record-breaking 4,000 submissions.This year’s two Grand Jury Short Film winners are now eligible for OSCAR consideration. The Award Winning Short Films screen on Saturday, October 7 at 10am in Landmark Cinemas.
