Calgary to Get New $22.5 Million Film Studio & Sound Stage by Summer 2015

New Film Studio CalgarySouthern Alberta will soon have a new film studio and its first permanent sound stage. The studio is estimated to cost $22.5 million, open in the summer of 2015 and will be developed by Calgary Economic Development.

Alberta Productions Nominated for 2014 Canadian Screen Awards

Canadian Screen Awards 2014Alberta productions received top honours from The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television at the announcement of the 2014 Canadian Screen Awards on January 13th.  Edmonton’s Tiny Plastic Men (airing on Super Channel) and  Blackstone (airing on APTN) both received nominations for Best Comedy Series and Best Dramatic Series, respectively.
