Can Mainstream Print Media Successfully Reinvent Itself in a Digital World?
I was doing some research for a project I was working on today and in my online travels, came across an important online magazine I didn’t know about. BackoftheBook.ca: Canada’s online magazine. Turns out the online magazine is published and edited by Frank Moher, a playwright and journalist born in Edmonton, schooled at the University of Alberta and now the Artistic Director of Western Edge Theatre in Nanaimo, BC. In an article written by Brian Brennan, who is likewise a writer with multiple talents in print, broadcast and now online journalism, theatre and music asks this question: ” Can the mainstream print media successfully reinvent itself to become as relevant to news consumers in the digital age as it used to be back in the days when readers looked to their morning newspapers for authoritative coverage of the previous day’s events?” He offers up some thought provoking answers to the question in ” Stelmach resignation leaves old-school media in the dust.” (January 26, 2011)
