Media-ChallengeThe Edmonton Comedy Festival presents the Media Challenge on Thursday, October 12 at 7:30pm at the ATB Financial Arts Barns, 10330 84 Ave. Hosted by Kevin Stobo, starring Tim Nutt, and depending on how many chicken out, featuring 16 local media personalities attempting stand-up comedy for the first or second time. From television, radio, and print you’ll recognize them all.

Each has written a five minute set with the winner, as chosen by our panel of judges, receiving a trophy and bragging rights at the next media scrum. This will be a combination of comedy and car crashes well worth the price of admission which we donate to our favorite charity Free Footie.

This year’s contestants include: Garette McGowan and Mark Connolly from the CBC, Nahreman, Bill Fortier and Rob Williams from the CTV, VUE’s Trent Wilkie, Emma Graney from The Journal and Dave Breakenridge from The Sun, CITY TV’s Courtney Theriault, Reid Wilkins and Eileen Bell from 630 CHED, Jay Hatton from FRESH 92.5 and Global Television’s Jesse Beyer and Quinn Ohler.

Tickets at: www.tixonthesquare.ca for $21 each, plus applicable service fees.
