Wild 93.5 FMAt 10:15 AM today, Jim Pattison Broadcast Group announced the rebranding of 95.3 FM The Peak playing classic rock to Wild FM playing hot country music.  The media release announcing the rebranding issued today promises that the new country station will be youthful, fun, driven by energy and be plugged in to today’s young woman and man. They plan on actively engaging listeners on the air, on social platforms, on their website.

Jim Pattison Group originally purchased the station from Bell Media on May 16, 2013, as part of the package of assets Bell acquired from Astral Media. The station officially launched on April 25, 2014 at 9:53 AM as The Peak 95.3 FM. Today’s rebranding announcement is not surprising considering that the station had the lowest ranking of all radio stations in Calgary in the last ratings report released in December 2015.

According to today’s media release, “fun will be evident in the station’s on air presentation, promotions and on-air talent,” in the rebranded station.

We’re thrilled that with the launch of Wild 95.3 Calgarians now have a choice for New Country. We plan to kick it up a notch and deliver true excitement and energy,” said Eric Stafford, General Manager. “We’ll show what WILD means through our music, our presentation and our complete involvement in the community.”

Launching with 10,000 uninterrupted songs in a row, listeners will find hot country artists such as Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Carrie Underwood, Zac Brown Band and Keith Urban playing
on WILD 95.3.

Ross Winters, Director of Programming for the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group added,

Calgary listeners told us that they love New Country music and that they love choice, so we’re delighted to give them both!
