Palliser Suite is a trilogy of one act plays set in the Palliser Hotel in Calgary and written in homage to Neil Simon. The first play is Mr. Fix It. Mel wakes up at the Palliser Hotel to find that his ex–wife has come bearing the news that she wants to marry her boyfriend. The second is Second Chance, First Love. A sixty-something socialite, Zelda, hosts Stanley Stillman, her old boyfriend from when she was in her twenties. The final play is Funeral Fore! Two rival brothers meet up at the Palliser with their partners as they prepare for their father’s wake and the spreading of his ashes on a golf course. Miscommunication, sibling rivalry, obsessive compulsive cleaning, laughter and tears ensue.
Playwright Caroline Russell-King received rave reviews and critical acclaim for her work.
