In celebration of 2014 International Women’s Day, Chelsey Smith presents a Girl Rising screening at Metro Cinemas (8712 109th Street NW) on Saturday March 8. Doors open at 3pm with drinks and mingling and the film begins at 4pm. Girl Rising is now a global movement to break the cycle of poverty with a simple message: educate girls and you will change the world!
Girl Rising is a powerful feature film, released in 2013, about nine girls across the world demonstrating inspiring strength and spirit, as they fight for their right to be educated and have the opportunity to reach their potential.
