The Edmonton International Film Festival, in association with Shorts International and Magnolia Pictures, will present the nominees for Best LIVE ACTION Short Film and Best ANIMATED Short Film at public screenings in Landmark Cinemas 9 City Centre Edmonton (formerly known as Empire City Centre 9).
Based on attendance and feedback from our immensely popular Subway Lunchbox Shorts program at the Edmonton International Film Festival, we know that our audiences adore bite-sized cinema!” says Kerrie Long, Festival Producer. “When was the last time you could admit (honestly) to seeing any of the Oscar Nominated Short Films? This could be your first. And, you get boasting rights to seeing ALL of the nominees in these categories, versus just a handful of films in every other category.
The Live Action nominees are: Helium (Denmark | 23-mins.), The Voorman Problem (UK | 13-mins.), Just Before Losing Everything (France | 30-mins.), That Wasn’t Me (Spain | 24-mins.) and Do I Have To Take Care of Everything? (Finland | 7-mins.).
Animation nominees include: Get A Horse (USA | 6-mins.), Mr. Hublot (France | 12-mins.), Feral (USA | 13-mins.), Possessions (Japan | 14-mins.) and Room On A Broom (UK | 26-mins.). The Animation package also includes three (3) short films that are not nominated, but were very highly commended: A la Francaise (France | 10-mins.), The Missing Scarf (Ireland | 7-mins.), and The Blue Umbrella (USA | 7-mins.).
