Alberta Book AwardsThe finalists of the 2013 Alberta Book Publishing Awards were announced on April 29, 2013. Jurors deliberated over 80 entries to select 27 finalists in 9 categories. Winners for Book Design (2 awards), Book of the Year (6 awards), and the Lois Hole Award for Editorial Excellence will be announced on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Alberta Book Awards Gala – Edmonton Delta Centre Suite Hotel.  This celebration will be co-hosted by the Book Publishers Association of Alberta and The Writers’ Guild of Alberta. In addition, Edmonton Public Library will be awarding the $10,000 fourth annual Alberta Readers’ Choice Award to an Alberta author.
