CIAM Radio began broadcasting from a trailer in Fort Vermillion, Alberta on January 28, 2003 with a “vision to reach the Northern Alberta communities with Good News.” Since then CARE Broadcasting Association, a registered charity in Canada that holds the broadcast licence, has added twenty more broadcasting locations. And, they are currently building a new Broadcast and Studio Centre in Fort Vermillion. CIAM is indexed as a Christian broadcasting format through the CRTC and broadcasts music, community events, local, national and international news, sports, weather and spoken word content, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Some content is local ethnic languages including Cree, Dene, and Deutsch. CIAM is listener supported radio and partners with local volunteers across Canada so that “people in these local communities will be able to hear Good News through community FM radio in a non-commercial format”. Their “ultimate goal is to utilize radio as a media and see lives changed, built up and restored.”
On August 30, 2012 CIAM announced a “New Native Program – Building Bridges with Pastor Matthew Auger”:
We are very glad to welcome Pastor Matthew Auger (PAOC) and his program Building Bridges to the Native program line up at CIAM Radio. Pastor Auger was born in the Calling Lake, Alberta and has spent much time serving the Lord in both an urban and rural Native context. He is an accomplished professional singer and musician, and a well experienced preacher and evangelist. Building Bridges focuses on sharing Biblical truth in a contextual format relevant to the issues and challenges that the First Nations people facing in Canada, with a special focus on Biblical reconciliation and deliverance. Tell your friends and neighbors to tune in on CIAM Radio network Saturday’s at 4pm.
