On May 20, 2011, Rawlco completed the flip of two of their three stations in Calgary and Edmonton to the Up! brand.  CHUP formerly known as CIGY | Calgary FM (and after that Now 97.7 FM and after that 97.7 Mix FM) is now rebranded Up! 97.7 FM and has switched its format to an adult hits. Its sister station in Edmonton, CIUP otherwise known as Up! 99.3 FM (and formerly CHMC known for its jazz format as Magic 99) rebranded to Up! 99.3 FM and replaced the jazz with an adult contemporary format in October 2010. Hosts for Edmonton’s up! 99.3 FM include Jason Roberts & Kari Skelton (The Wake up! Show), Charlee Morgan (Middays), Robbin Reay (Afternoons, Saturday Night), Tim Riess (Evenings, Weekend Afternoons), and Duncan Paterson (Weekend Mornings). Up! 99.3fm was launched live on Global Edmonton News. The first song played was Fleetwood Mac’s “Don’t Stop”. The first host to be heard on up! 99.3 was Tim Riess at 6:30pm, October 19th, 2010. Its slogan is “Edmonton’s Feel Good Station” to mirror its “Calgary’s Feel Good Station” tagline for Up! 97 Calgary FM. Hosts for Up! Calgary includes Tripp Anthony (Wake Up Show), The Ara Show (midday) The Kev Wood Show (afternoon/evenings), The Grant Buchanan Show (weekends). Both stations live stream their control rooms on their websites. What remains to be seen is what Rawlco plans to do with CKNO | Now! Radio 102.3 FM launched in February 2010. The Now! sound seems to have caught on with listeners. The station made a reasonable showing in the most recent BBMs and with its hot adult contemporary format seems to have found some groove. From all reports on the flip from Mix 97.7 to Up! 97.7 FM in Calgary, things aren’t so good. So far, on PugetSoundRadio.com, people have posted 15 pages with 26,796 views of their opinions on the rebrand since April 2, 2011.
